WP/PCA Integration FAQs
When are Progressive Commercial Aquatics and Westport Pools officially rebranded to Landmark Aquatic?
The Progressive Commercial Aquatics and Westport Pools brand names will be 100% retired on October 1, 2024, replaced by Landmark Aquatic.
What might not get rebranded by the Oct 1st date?
- Vehicle decals – we are currently struggling to get the new DOT# in time. Once we do get the DOT#, we need to then order, receive and install all the vehicle decals. As of 9/25 – we are still waiting for the DOT#.
- Office signage – if late, it looks only a day or two, depending on bandwidth of a few of the sign companies can get out to install.
What is the difference between a company’s trade name and a legal name?
A business’s legal name is the official name that appears on government forms and legal documents, while a trade name is the name the business uses for advertising and sales purposes. A trade name is also known as a fictitious name or a DBA (doing business as).
Here are some examples of how a business’s legal name and trade name might differ:
- The legal name of the company that owns amazon.com is Amazon Technologies, Inc., but the trade name it uses is Amazon.
- The legal name of Walmart is Wal-Mart Inc., but the trade name it uses is Walmart.
- The business name is Trader Joe’s Co., but the public facing name is Trader Joe’s.
The legal name is used for legal purposes, such as setting up bank accounts, signing contracts, filing tax returns, and buying property. The trade name is used to present the business to the public, such as on storefront displays, advertising, and customer-facing materials
When Westport Pools and Progressive Commercial Aquatics rebrand to the tradename of Landmark Aquatic on October 1, 2024, how do we list the company name on contracts, accounts, agreements, and other legal documents?
You should use the legal names of the respective companies combined with the doing business as name.
- Progressive Commercial Aquatics, LLC doing business as Landmark Aquatic
- Westport Pools, LLC doing business as Landmark Aquatic
Are the company EIN’s (employer identification numbers) changing on October 1, 2024?
No, we will retain the same EIN’s that we had before. There is currently no plan to change EIN’s.
How are we notifying customers and vendors about the change?
Customers and vendors will receive a new W-9 form in the mail accompanied by a letter.
How can I get a copy of the new W-9 form when someone requests it?
Contact your local accounting department.
Should we redo old agreements or contracts and include the tradename?
Since no change is being made to the legal entity or EIN on October 1, 2024, existing contracts and agreements can remain as is. At renewal, or when a new contract or agreement is signed, use the legal name + trade name format above.
Should we change the name on an existing vendor account or master agreement or contract?
This may differ based on vendor or client requirements. Please consult the vendor/client and your local accounting department contact.
Should we change the name on an existing business, contractor, or other license or government accounts and how should we list it on new ones?
Since different entities have different requirements and different rules about what is and is not permitted, you should research each license or account on a case-by-case basis. In a case where we are permitted to list both the legal name and the trade name, you should list both. If only one name is permitted, you should always use the legal name.
I have a document or template that I use with an old logo, where do I get the new logo?
Contact Jennifer Stevens or Todd Wold in the Marketing department for logos and other brand identity information.
When will I get my business cards?
Most employees are already carrying Landmark Aquatic business cards. If you are still using Progressive or Westport cards, and do not have Landmark cards, please inform marketing ASAP.
Will we be getting new work wear?
Yes, on October 1st, all Westport and Progressive offices will have apparel to disperse accordingly.
When will we be getting stationery?
On October 1st, all Westport and Progressive offices will have new print stationary, and digital versions will be available on Marketing Materials SharePoint site. Contact Todd or Jennifer if you are unable to access SharePoint.
When will signs be replaced?
On Oct 1st, PCA and WP inside and outside signage will be taken down and updated signage put up.
What should be done about the branding of our corporate vehicles?
We’re working with a contact at each site but have run into a temporary snag getting the new DOT#. Until the DOT# issue is settled, keep using the vehicles with their current branding. Please don’t try to source branded vehicle decals locally, as they must be produced by our approved suppliers.
What will happen to the old websites, google listings, and social media accounts?
On Oct 1st, the PCA and WP websites will begin automatically redirecting visitors to the Landmark Aquatic website. The PCA and WP social media accounts, Google listings, etc… will either be retired or redirected to Landmark accounts and listings.
How should I answer the phone starting October 1?
The official caller greeting is Thank you for calling Landmark Aquatic, this is XXXX, how may I help you?
If you have any recordings or messages, they should be updated to say Landmark Aquatic on October 1, 2024.
How do I learn more about using our logo and brand colors or fonts?
Contact Jennifer Stevens or Todd Wold in the Marketing department to get a copy of the logo art file….and/or to learn about the brand fonts, colors, logos, their use and more.
Is it okay to continue using clothing, bags, drinkware and other items with old logos on them?
We are proud to be Landmark Aquatic and all that we are accomplishing. We hope you share in that pride and show it every day by wearing only Landmark Aquatic branded uniform shirts or apparel items to every job site and client meeting. We are also proud of our heritage and encourage the continued use of “vintage” logo items outside the workplace. Inside, please use best judgement – if a customer comes into your office and/or to your workstation, it should be very clear you and the office are Landmark Aquatic.
When filling out a form that asks for my employer information, what name should I use?
You should provide the legal company name. If you are unsure of the legal company name, consult your most recent pay stub.
Will the name on my W-2 or pay stubs be changing?
No. Your W-2, pay stubs, I-9’s and other documents that tie back to the government will show the legal company name, not the trade name.
Who can approve the look and feel of the new brand?
The Marketing team has authority to confirm proper application of the new brand across all asset categories. If you have an existing, or need a new, asset (brochure, flyer, banner, sign, etc.) please work with the Marketing team to ensure the asset meets brand guidelines.
What about my Social Media accounts?
Please update your profiles with the Landmark logo and consider updating your work history to name Landmark as the company you have been working for.
