Landmark Aquatic served as the aquatic contractor for the renovation of the Wawasee Middle School aquatic envrionment in Syracuse, Indiana, completing significant upgrades to the 6,780-square-foot, 333,000-gallon competition pool.
Working with Michael Kinder & Sons as general contractor, Elevatus as architect, and WTI as the aquatic designer, Landmark Aquatic installed new pool tile, a new Colorado Timing System, Spectrum Aquatics handrails, and Competitor lane lines. The renovation also included a new Paddock bulkhead to provide greater flexibility for programming and competition within the pool.
A significant component of Landmark Aquatic’s scope was the installation of the new bulkhead. Rather than subcontracting the work to a specialty rigging company, Landmark Aquatic’s field team self-performed the entire installation. The team offloaded the bulkhead, carefully maneuvered it into the building through a particularly tight access point, and successfully placed it in the pool.
The completed renovation provides Wawasee Middle School with updated competition equipment and pool finishes while demonstrating the hands-on field expertise required to execute complex aquatic installations safely and efficiently.
