Landmark Aquatic served as the aquatic designer and contractor for the Washington Park Splashpad in Indianapolis, Indiana. Delivered as a design-build project, Landmark Aquatic worked alongside Mattcon General Contractors and HWC Engineering to develop a new interactive aquatic environment designed around Vortex aquatic play features.
The scope included the installation of the Vortex-designed features along with the complete plumbing and mechanical systems supporting the splashpad. Landmark Aquatic installed Schedule 80 piping throughout the aquatic system, as well as a BECS chemical controller and UV secondary sanitation system to support water quality and ongoing facility operation.
Installation presented challenging conditions in the field, particularly during the underground plumbing phase. The Landmark Aquatic team installed the underground piping during one of the coldest and wettest days of the year, requiring the crew to work through difficult site and weather conditions while maintaining installation requirements and keeping the project moving forward.
The completed Washington Park Splashpad provides the Indianapolis community with a new interactive aquatic amenity supported by purpose-built mechanical, plumbing, and water treatment systems.
