Landmark Aquatic served as the aquatic contractor for the $7.1 million aquatic scope at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming, delivering a comprehensive new aquatic environment designed to support collegiate swimming, diving, water polo, training, and recreational use.

Working alongside Aquatic Design Group, GE Johnson, and Arete Design Group, Landmark Aquatic constructed the competition pool, diving well, a 170-square-foot hydrotherapy pool, and installed the complete aquatic mechanical equipment package. The competition pool features 10 long-course lanes with the ability to accommodate 21 short-course lanes, while the 13-foot-deep diving well includes two 1-meter Duraflex diving boards, two 3-meter Duraflex diving boards, and concrete diving platforms. Life Floor was installed beneath the diving stands to provide a resilient surface in this high-use area.

A challenging component of Landmark Aquatic’s scope was the installation of the competition pool bulkhead inside the enclosed building. With limited access to the pool area, the team coordinated closely with the City of Laramie, the University, and the rigging company to temporarily shut down surrounding roads and carefully maneuver the bulkhead through a small building opening before positioning it within the pool. This coordination allowed a major piece of aquatic infrastructure to be installed safely despite the challenging site conditions.

The facility’s mechanical systems include Eko³ Systems GEN2 sand filtration by Knorr Systems, ETS UV systems, BECS chemical and filtration controllers, and variable frequency drives. Landmark Aquatic also installed Spectrum Aquatics starting blocks and a Colorado timing system to support the University’s competitive aquatic programs.

The completed facility provides the University of Wyoming with a versatile aquatic environment capable of supporting swim, dive, and water polo practices and competition while also serving the broader recreational needs of the campus community.
