Seabrook Pelican Bay

Landmark Aquatic led the $4.5 million redevelopment of Pelican Bay in Seabrook, Texas, serving as the design-build aquatic contractor and general contractor for renovations to the facility’s supporting structures. The project transformed the aging aquatic facility through a comprehensive demolition and redevelopment designed to provide the community with a modern, efficient, and engaging recreational destination.

Rather than invest in costly repairs to the facility’s two aging pools, Landmark Aquatic completely demolished the existing bodies of water and constructed two new pools in their place. The new 3,871-square-foot, 61,000-gallon activity pool provides an interactive recreation environment featuring a Vortex aquatic play structure, while the 3,418-square-foot, 128,000-gallon lap pool supports club swimming, competition, and other aquatic programming with Spectrum Aquatics starting blocks, handrails, and an ADA lift. The adjacent splash pad was also restored with refinished Vortex spray features.

The redevelopment extended well beyond the pools themselves. Landmark Aquatic constructed an entirely new pump house to support the new pools and renovated the existing pump house serving the splash pad. Landmark installed the new pools’ mechanical and water treatment systems, including Waterco filtration, Accu-Tab chlorination, Acid-Rite pH control, Lochinvar heating equipment, ETS and Barrier Ti UV systems, and ProMinent and ERP THOR chemical controllers. As general contractor, Landmark also completed renovations to the bathhouse, aquatics office, guard office, and indoor recreation and meeting space.

Through a comprehensive design-build approach, Landmark Aquatic replaced an aging facility with a renewed aquatic environment that combines new pools, upgraded infrastructure, modern water treatment systems, and improved support spaces to better serve the Seabrook community for years to come.
