The Merriam Community Center in Merriam, Kansas, offers a comprehensive mix of indoor and outdoor aquatic spaces designed to support recreation, fitness, competition, and wellness. Landmark Aquatic served as the aquatic contractor for the project, working alongside Aquatic Design Group to deliver the facility’s diverse aquatic amenities.
Inside, the leisure pool features a lazy river with stair entry, zero-depth entry, interactive spray features, and two water slides. An adjoining four-lane lap pool expands the facility’s programming capabilities and includes two basketball hoops for recreational play. A separate therapy pool provides a more controlled environment for wellness and therapeutic programming, with an ADA lift, stair entry, and underwater bench seating.
The outdoor aquatic area adds both competitive and recreational opportunities. An eight-lane lap pool is equipped with starting blocks, two 1-meter diving boards, and an Aqua Zip’N for added adventure. An adjoining outdoor leisure pool features zero-depth entry and spray features, creating an accessible space for families and younger swimmers.
Together, the indoor and outdoor aquatic spaces give the Merriam Community Center the flexibility to accommodate a broad range of users and programming throughout the year.
