Life Time South Lamar

Landmark Aquatic delivered a unique wellness aquatic feature for the Life Time South Lamar fitness center in Austin, Texas, providing the installation of a stainless steel cold plunge and warm spa, along with all interior finish work and a complete mechanical and recirculation system.

The project consists of a 203-square-foot cold plunge and warm spa experience with a combined water volume of approximately 3,594 gallons. Designed to support recovery and wellness, these hydrotherapy amenities provide members with the benefits of both cold-water immersion and therapeutic warm-water relaxation.

As the first Bradford stainless steel pool installation completed by Landmark Aquatic’s Austin construction team, the project presented several unique logistical and structural challenges that demanded precise coordination among trades. Because the pools are located on the second floor of an existing building, the slab was not designed to support the weight of the rigging equipment and assembled structures. The stainless steel vessels had to be lifted into the structure in sections and carefully maneuvered through the building before being placed into their final installation area. Once positioned, the vessels were welded together on-site and connected to the mechanical room through a network of overhead piping suspended from ceiling hangers installed on the story below.

The completed installation showcases both the versatility of stainless steel aquatic structures and the growing demand for hydrotherapy amenities in modern fitness environments. While smaller in scale than traditional pools, cold plunges and warm spas have become increasingly popular as recovery-focused wellness features. As fitness centers continue to invest in premium member experiences, larger and more sophisticated warm and cold plunge installations are expected to become a common feature in high-end facilities nationwide.
