Danville High School Natatorium

Key highlights:

The Danville High School Natatorium addition was developed to replace the school’s aging aquatic facility and meet the demands of a growing student population. The new, larger natatorium provides a modern, high-performance environment designed to support both competitive athletics and expanded physical education programming.

With a total surface area of 7,554 square feet and a volume of 450,073 gallons, the facility includes a competition pool and dedicated diving well. A stainless steel bulkhead system allows for flexible programming and multiple simultaneous activities within the pool.

The natatorium is now fully equipped with Spectrum Aquatics starting blocks, Durafirm 1M and 3M dive stands, a Colorado Timing system for competition, and an ADA-compliant access lift to ensure inclusivity for all users.

This state-of-the-art facility also incorporates advanced mechanical and water treatment systems, including a new Neptune Benson Defender RMF filtration system, ETS UV sanitation system, variable frequency drives (VFDs), BECS chemical controller and Pulsar feed system, and a high-efficiency Lochinvar water heater—ensuring optimal water quality, energy efficiency, and long-term operational reliability.

An innovative feature of this project is the integration of a spot rigging system to enhance diving training capabilities—an uncommon addition at the high school level that elevates athlete development and safety. Additionally, the installation of a Paddock Industries evacuator gutter system significantly improves indoor air quality, creating a healthier environment for students, staff, and spectators.
